TMAYG Episode 06 - Kravestorm

In this episode, I talk with Andre Serrenho about his game Kravestorm. Kravestorm is a strategic 2–4 player card battler set in a dystopian world of addiction and decay. Overview The game revolves around a Capital, which you'll try to protect using your Kravers. Kravers are your units, and they're fueled by Nekthar, a highly addictive substance that brings immense power but at a very high cost. When they consume too much, they might become Wasted or even Overdosed, leaving your Capital exposed. Your Capital is the base you build your deck around. It defines how many cards you start the game with, how many Kravers you can have in play at a time, your default Nekthar production, a unique one-time-use effect, and, most importantly, your HP, the main winning condition of the game. The positioning of your Kravers matters. The damage of attacks is assigned from left to right by default. Kravers are always deployed to the far right of your Garrison (your play zone), and they move to the far left when attacking. To help you achieve your victory (or simply delay the inevitable), you may unleash Nightmares. Each deck may contain up to three of these powerful, play-anytime cards. The Nightmares ensure plot twists and comeback opportunities in a very dramatic fashion. Kravestorm has a robust resource system that ensures you'll never have to deal with Nekthar screw or Nekthar flood, while simultaneously allowing you to cycle your cards often, avoiding dead cards in hand.
