This is a late post, because you know, life. I wrote this song as a surprise for my husband and sang it for our vows on our wedding day 10 years ago. I re-recorded it as part of my 10th year anniversary gift to him. As a bonus, I found the short version of our wedding video from 10 years ago (why does the video tech already seem so old! Haha) and so I included some clips from that day for you to witness. I remember recording it for the first time in Orlando 10 years ago before heading to the Philippines, with the help of my friend, Jeremy Daughtry, who engineered and mixed it live. I arranged it for piano and strings, which my talented friends, Noemy Olson, Eunice Bautista, and Melanie Catangay played. But I was so sick that day.. I was just glad that I was able to sing it. This current version is just piano and voice, arranged with new background vocals. What an incredible 10 years it has been with my husband. Not because our marriage is perfect, and not because we have only had good times. It has been amazing because through the hardships and struggles of 2 imperfect, sinful people, God’s grace has shown itself true in our lives as we seek to please Him and honor Him through the covenant we made to each other and God. Because we said “I do” in the presence of the One whose promises remain, we know that our promise to each other can also remain faithful and true. I hope that you will be be blessed, and feel inspired to love your spouse more with this song.
