The Italian philosopher, a graduate in Aesthetics from the University of Bologna who trained with Félix Guattari and was a professor of the social history of mass media at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, is also a prominent activist for Italian workers' autonomy. He has developed a prolific body of critical work in which he has studied the transformations of labor and society brought about by globalization, especially regarding the role of mass media in post-industrial societies. He founded the legendary magazine "A/Traverso," the first Italian pirate radio station, Radio Alice, and TV Orfeu, the birthplace of community television in Italy. In the field of essays, he debuted with “Contro il lavoro” (Against Work), published in 1970, and since then has published around fifty titles, some of them translated into Spanish, such as “La fábrica de la infelicidad” (The Factory of Unhappiness, 2003), “La sublevación” (The Uprising, 2013), “Fenomenología del fin” (Phenomenology of the End, 2017), “La segunda venida” (The Second Coming, 2021), “El umbral. Crónicas y meditaciones” (The Threshold: Chronicles and Meditations, 2020), “El tercer inconsciente” (The Third Unconscious), and “La psicoesfera en la época viral” (The Psychosphere in the Viral Era, 2021). His latest book is “Medio siglo contra el trabajo” (Half a Century Against Work, 2023). In it, he explains the current human condition, the possibility of the future, and analyzes the chaotic present, the wars in Ukraine and Gaza, and the state of politics on a global level.
