Silent Hill 4: The Room GOG Version All Broken Cutscenes and Side-by-Side Comparison
I recently completed my first playthrough of Silent Hill 4: The Room (the GOG Version). While playing, I was completely unaware of the fact that some of the cutscenes were actually "broken," which I later realized after watching others' footages on YouTube after completing my playthrough. In fact, I found these "broken" cutscenes, within the game's horror aesthetic context, somewhat "creepier" than their normal counterparts and had some kind of unique "beauty" in them, which might explain why it felt as if "intentional" at first glance (at least for me). So I thought it might be interesting to share what they looked and sounded like. Most of the game's cutscenes were normal, but for some reason, the specific ones, where the "Victims" were revived as ghosts were broken (and within which, only Cynthia's transformation cutscene remained normal). The "Intro" which played after idling too long in the menu screen, and the ending cutscene that I got, which was "21 Sacraments," including the whole credits, were also broken. The "brokenness" include image distortions, color and audio distortions, and an overall sped up of all such scenes. I have no idea what caused it though, and if other GOG users experience the same, so feel free to enlighten me! 00:00 - Introduction 01:05 - Main Manu Intro/trailer (broken cutscene) 03:41 - Victim 17 (Ghost of Jasper Gein) (broken cutscene) 04:11 - Victim 18 (Ghost of Andrew DeSalvo) (broken cutscene) 04:36 - Victim 19 (Ghost of Richard Braintree) (broken cutscene) 04:59 - 21 Sacraments Ending & Credits (broken cutscene) 08:22 - Main Manu Intro/trailer (Side-by-Side Comparison) 10:46 - Victim 17 (Ghost of Jasper Gein) (Side-by-Side Comparison) 11:31 - Victim 18 (Ghost of Andrew DeSalvo) (Side-by-Side Comparison) 12:12 - Victim 19 (Ghost of Richard Braintree) (Side-by-Side Comparison) 12:40 - 21 Sacraments Ending & Credits (Side-by-Side Comparison Also if you're interested, you can find the live streams of my full playthrough as a playlist: • Silent Hill 4: The Room《沉默之丘4:密室驚魂》
