HENNA DIY: how to seal your henna | water resistant henna | Raisa's Mendhi Art

Hi, my name is Raisa. I am a South African dentist with a passion for all things henna! On my channel you'll find an array of henna designs all done by yours truly. All the information you need is here: In this video I show you the steps I follow to seal my henna design so that the paste lasts on the hands for several hours. If done correctly, your stain can last the entire day without flaking off! You will first need to prepare your sealing solution. Mix 1/2 teaspoon sugar with 1 tablespoon lemon juice. This recipe will be enough to cover 1 hand 3-4 times. After application allow the henna design to dry COMPLETELY!! The design will start to crack and flake off when the henna is dry enough. Now apply your first coat of the lemon juice mixture. Allow the design to dry COMPLETELY before applying the second coat. Allow the design to dry COMPLETELY again before applying your third and then fourth coat. Allowing the henna to dry completely between each coat will allow the lemon juice to soak the henna paste making it stick better to the skin! Once you have applied 3-4 coats, apply baby powder to your sticky hands. THIS STEP IS OPTIONAL! Not applying baby powder will NOT affect your seal! If you follow these steps correctly you will find it very hard to scrape of your henna design, even water will not remove it easily! Happy henna-ing!
