Day 350 The Drunken Sailor - 365 Days of Irish tenor Banjo Tunes

So I think this is the longest and most difficult tune I have played. I made it through but in really rough fashion, especially the last part. I wanted to try Ben’s suggestion on the 1/16 notes but at the same times me I wanted to stick with my tradition of playing at least the first time through as written in the Banjo Buddy book. So I did a plain version and an ornamented version. Oddly enough dropping the sixteenths didn’t make it any easier to get through that part it’s just some really hard phrases. Anyway here it is with all its scars and flaws, the drunken sailor. These daily postings are my way of trying to get better at Irish Tenor Banjo. I have challenged myself to play a new tune each day out of the Banjo Buddy’s Big Book of 365 Irish Tunes. I post the results each day on YouTube. If you get a copy of the book I would love to have you follow along with me on this journey. Contents 0:00 Intro 2:10 As written version 7:45 Ornamented version
