The Swedish Floorball Federation now has a dedicated program for our sport – at all levels. Our very own Knee Control+ includes exercise variations ranging from easier to more challenging movements. The program also features exercises aimed at preventing muscle and tendon injuries. The recommendation from the Swedish Floorball Federation is to introduce the exercises already at younger ages, by selecting the simpler and more playful ones to start with. From around age 10–12, the full program can be implemented. The goal is to make injury prevention training a natural part of floorball early on and to lay a strong foundation for consistent injury prevention throughout a player’s career. On our website innebandy.se/tranare/innebandyns-knakontroll you'll find a brochure with different exercise variations, overall structure, and training plans. There are also videos linked to each exercise. Starting from the 2022/2023 season, Swedish Floorball offers continuing education in Knee Control+. If you're interested, please contact your regional floorball association if you are in Sweden and otherwise please contact The Swedish Floorball Federation. Knee Control+ has been developed and tested by the SWIPE research group – Sport Without Injury ProgrammE – at Linköping University in collaboration with experienced sports physiotherapists.
