A Salterbeck to Harrington shore Fly By

I had not been down here since my childhood and was shocked by the amount of erosion. This is clearly visible when looking at the second tunnel/bridge. I remember the railway line a top of the bridge from which the loco from the steelworks dumped the red hot slag ingots down the slope and onto the beach. The bottom of the embankment was where the old ingots can be seen on the shore, but now its nearly all gone! I also remember being the coldest I've ever been helping my father shovel shore coal into bags and then dragging them 3 at a time over a pushbike up to Westfield. Don't believe the papers, I remember, They were even heavier than someone from Whitehaven! :) Subscribe to my YouTube Channel to see all the videos Music - Music for Manatees by Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)
