Le Mans early 80's - 14 laps in the 1980 Le Mans winning Rondeau M379 (Assetto Corsa)

The Rondeau M379 was basically a Group-6 car but was allowed in 1982 into the new Group-C regulations. Jean Rondeau was the only one to this day who won the 24 hours of Le Mans in his own car in 1980. In previous years he had a class victory with the Inaltera, a car designed by Rondeau and Welter (who also designed his own Le Mans prototypes, like the speed record holder WM-P88) The car was powered by a ~460 bhp naturally aspirated Ford-Cosworth DFV V8 and was used by many customer teams. As the competition progressed over the years, the Rondeau was held back by the lack of funds. Further development of the engine by Ford to gain more power resulted in reliability issues. A special version was made, the M482, and was used from 1982 unto 1987 without much succes. The last race for the M379 was in 1988! In total, 19 cars have been produced and 17 still exist.
