Her name means "light," and therefore Saint Lucy became known as the protector of the eyes and vision. Even in the face of threats and suffering, Saint Lucy did not deny her faith. History tells that, because of her great devotion and courage, she faced martyrdom with trust in God. Therefore, she is considered an example of faith, spiritual strength, and fidelity to the Lord. Today, thousands of faithful turn to her intercession, asking for protection for their eyes, healing from vision problems, and light to see the paths of life. Her feast day is celebrated on December 13th, a date marked by prayers and devotion in many parts of the world.
