Roda Viva | José Mojica Marins | 1998

In 1998, we welcomed actor and film director José Mojica Marins to Roda Viva, known for his character Zé do Caixão (Coffin Joe). A filmmaker, but also an actor, TV program director, comic book character and creator, owner of a cosmetics line, a nightclub, a coffin consortium, poet, marketer, and former candidate for state representative, Mojica postponed his participation in international film festivals for several years. The reason? The master of Brazilian horror is terrified of flying. After being convinced to board one, Mojica discovered that his films, which had several problems with Brazilian censorship, were admired worldwide. The panel of interviewers included journalist Rogério Brandão, creator of the Cine Trash program on TV Bandeirantes and programming director of TV Cultura in São Paulo; and writer Mário Prata, columnist for the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo and the magazine Isto É. The actress and director Ítala Nandi, professor and coordinator of the acting course at Faculdade da Cidade in Rio de Janeiro; the film director Carlos Reichenbach; the journalist André Barcinski; and the film director, the 'master' of the terrible, Ivan Cardoso. #RodaViva
