Ever since he first came to Sodor in 1939, Gordon has been the strongest and fastest engine on the Island Of Sodor as he has run the North Western Railway's express line for years...even though the importance of the job can sometimes go to his smokebox and make him very puffed up, but the others engines know that Gordon means well and only wants to be Really Useful.
