Hello! I filmed this video in Equatorial Guinea, the only country on the African continent with Spanish as its official language. You'll learn nine words that appear in the Dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy (DRAE) that are only spoken in this region, i.e., GUINEANISMS (although this word is used by many academics, but to date it has not been approved). You'll also learn other commonly used words that are not yet included in the book, as well as typical phrases or expressions in everyday use. There are more than 50 words originating from or commonly used in Equatorial Guinea registered in the DRAE. More than 80% of the population in Equatorial Guinea speaks Spanish, although French and Portuguese are also its second and third official languages, respectively. We can't forget that there are several ethnic groups in the country who have their own languages, such as the Fang, Bubi, Fernandinos, Igbos, Bakas, Balengues, Bisios, Beacheros, and Bengas, among others.
