Flemish Folk Art, but make it Wool
Hello friends! I need more whimsy in my crafting studio, so I shall bring more whimsy in my crafting studio: with needlefelting!. It is no secret that I love folk art motifs. However, I always seem to be drawing inspiration from cultures that are not my own. Let's change that. Today the challenge is to create pretty folk decor items (two pillowcases and one pouf) inspired by traditionally Belgian, Flemish of Dutch designs. My research let me speculaasplanken. A very ubiquitous and specific cultural item in both the Low Countries (and parts of Germany and I guess France too). So yep, that's what's happening: we are going to be felting some Belgian folk art motifs onto these items.
