The evacuation began at 5:26 PM Eastern Indonesian Time, led by First Inspector Abdul Azis from the Papua Regional Police Mobile Brigade Corps (Satbrimob), along with TNI and Yalimo Police personnel. The riot was sparked by a misunderstanding between students, which then led to an attack by the mob.
