When the Renault Duster was launched in Brazil, it caused a stir in the car market. At the time, SUVs were beginning to become the most desired car model, but they were still very expensive, and that's where the Duster came in strong, with an attractive price (the cheapest in its category) and also offering 4x4 traction. Years passed, and age began to weigh on the project. In 2020, Renault did an internal and external facelift and brought some aerodynamic improvements, but discontinued the 4x4 version and also the 2.0 16V engine, leaving only the weak but economical 1.6 naturally aspirated engine with the option of a 5-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission. At the time, we tested the new Duster, and it became clear that that engine only met the needs of a portion of the vehicle's target audience; the removal of the 2.0 option left many future owners dissatisfied. In 2021, Renault launched the new 1.3 turbo engine, developed in partnership with Mercedes-Benz, initially in the new Captur. In early 2022, it was the Oroch and Duster's turn to receive this engine, which, in our opinion, is one of the best engines currently on the Brazilian market!
