[UHD] 경복궁 건축의 꽃, 경회루(SUB) | KOREA

Gyeonghoeru of Gyeongbokgung Palace is a pavilion that was built in a pond located northwest of Geunjeongjeon Hall. It was originally built as a small pavilion during the reign of King Taejo, but it was newly built on much larger scale in the 12th year of King Taejong’s reign to host banquets for foreign envoys as well as the king and government officials. It was unfortunately destroyed during the Japanese invasion of Korea in 1592 (Imjinwaeran) but was rebuilt during the reign of King Gojong. It, however, has retained its original appearance and demonstrates the characteristics of simplicity and elegance that the late-Joseon Dynasty pavilions are known for.
