The magic of Uruguay’s Murga
Urban legend has it that Uruguay’s carnival is more popular than the country’s number one sport, selling more tickets in just over a month than football matches do in the whole year. One of the carnival’s biggest attractions is the Murga, which is a form of comedic theater, mixed with social critique and, most of all, music.
