La famosa canción "Vino Griego" es una adaptación al español de la canción "Griechischer Wein", compuesta originalmente en 1974 por el cantautor austríaco Udo Jürgens. Al ser grabado por el español José Vélez, se transformaría en su primer éxito mundial. Al principio, la canción no conseguía entrar en las listas de las más populares de la época y no fue hasta que José Vélez interpretara en un programa de televisión, donde la canción se convierte en la número uno y se agota en todas las tiendas de discos.
