She started researching alternatives and discovered tiny homes. What she found changed everything. Cyndy purchased a Liberty Landing model from Liberty Tiny Homes for $126,000 cash. At 399 square feet, her tiny home on a foundation is built just like a traditional house, with full-size appliances, quartz countertops, a walk-in shower, and a queen-size bedroom on the main floor. Her lot rent is $850 per month, which includes water, sewage, and trash. Electricity runs between $50 and $75 per month. Compare that to the $1,500 or more she would pay for an apartment, and the math speaks for itself. Living on a fixed income, Cyndy shares how tiny home living has given her financial breathing room she never had in a full-size house. No mortgage. Utilities under $100 a month. And the freedom to budget without the anxiety of rising housing costs. She breaks down exactly what she spends and why this lifestyle works for someone on Social Security or retirement income. Inside, she walks us through every room: the galley kitchen with full-size stove, oven, microwave, farmhouse sink, and full-size refrigerator. Her combo washer dryer that eliminated the chore she used to dread. A living room with a 65-inch TV, electric fireplace, and enough space for her recliner and two large boxers. A bathroom with quartz countertops, four drawers, a walk-in shower, and direct access from the bedroom. And a bedroom with a queen bed, two closets with barn doors, and a glass shelving unit holding her late mother's keepsakes. Cyndy also shares what she would do differently: skip the dishwasher (the farmhouse sink handles everything), swap the full oven for just a stovetop with an air fryer, and add a small pantry. These are the kinds of real insights you only get from someone who has actually lived in a tiny home for nine months. This is one of the most practical and honest tiny home tours we have filmed. If you are over 50, living on a fixed income, recently widowed, or just tired of paying too much for housing you do not need, this video is for you.
