And at that point, I was like "right. See ya next year, everybody!"... I don't honestly know if I feel more happy or fooled.... Cerise is Moana/Vaiana's French voice both for Canada and Europe. The same recording was used in both versions, only the name of the protagonist was re-dubbed. Now, copy and paste the description under the pop version: Aaall right, I’m not one who usually wants to complain about how hard making a translation was (basically, one of the reasons why I keep doing this sort of things is: the more complicated are some lyrics, the harder it gets to translate them, the more I have fun), but for this one time…let me have my fucking outburst! Long story short: the main problem here, comes from the title of the song “le bleu lumière”. Grammatically, this is how I can dissect this expression: “le” (“the”), definite article, male singular form; “bleu” (“blue”), male singular noun; “lumière” (“light”), noun turned into an adjective. So, basically, the word “light” (meaning “gleam, glow”, not “pastel, pale”) here is adjective of “blue”. Now, to my own interpretation, “bleu lumière” could be a way to define a specific (and made up) hue of blue (like when you say “pitch-black” or “silver-grey”). But since the whole thing wasn't already mad enough, as the colour “light-blue” does exist in English, and the game made with “blue” and “light” just gets lost, I was forced to look for another translation for that “light”, so I went on with “gleam”. This whole thing I’m writing down is essentially meant to point out that “gleam-blue” you read in my translation would actually be “light-blue”, where “light” is to be intended with the meaning of “gleam, glow” not as “pastel, pale, faint” (and surely not as “not heavy”). Another thing: keep in mind that, differently from English, in a language like French, the colour blue is usually linked to positive feelings, such as peace, tranquillity, serenity. *the verb “ignorer” can mean both “ignore” and “not know about, not be aware of”
