Everything I’m Packing For a 2000 Mile Motorcycle Adventure

This is Jason Salyer with Moto On3. I’m riding 2,000 miles from Georgia to Texas and back on a Honda XR150L—no hotels, no set plan, and no guarantees. Just a small bike, a lightweight loadout, and the skills to figure it out along the way. This is a true solo motorcycle adventure ride, where I’ll be camping every night—most likely off-grid, away from campgrounds. I’ll stop when I need rest, resupply when I fuel up, and rely on what I carry and what I know to get there and back. I’m packing ultra-light but fully capable—everything I need to survive, ride, and adapt: • Minimalist motorcycle camping gear • Lightweight sleep system (bag, pad, shelter options) • Compact cooking setup + stove • Water storage and filtration • Tools and field repair kit • Spare tubes and essential bike maintenance gear • Cordage, fire, and small survival essentials The Honda XR150L isn’t built for comfort—it’s underpowered, simple, and reliable. That’s exactly why I chose it. This trip is about freedom, self-reliance, and real-world adventure riding, not luxury. Plan is about one week… but out here, plans change. If you’re into motorcycle camping, dual sport riding, lightweight adventure travel, or off-grid riding, this is what it actually looks like. #motorcycleadventure #motocamping #dualsport #xr150l #adventureriding #soloride #overlandmoto #campingoffgrid #selfreliance #motoon3
