Püü Polma — Beyond Points on a Map: Maintaining Address Intelligence Across the Baltics

This talk challenges the common assumption that open data is also ready to use, highlighting the gap between availability and usability. Maintaining high-quality Baltic address data goes far beyond gathering points on a map. It requires workflows for harmonizing national sources, improving locational accuracy, enriching addresses with related data, and linking them to spatial context to build a reliable address intelligence system that supports different client needs. Püü Polma is a GIS Product Manager and geoinformatics specialist at Regio OÜ with over 15 years of experience in the private sector. Her work focuses on building and maintaining geospatial data workflows and products. She is particularly interested in open-source GIS solutions and practical uses of geospatial data. Recorded at the State of the Map Baltics 2026 / Baltic GIT Conference 2026 in Riga.
