Lachen Dzumsa: Best practices in conservation from #SECUREHimalaya

Lachen village in north Sikkim, has a unique system of local self-government called the “Dzumsa”. Given special recognition by the constitution of India, every household is a member of this system, responsible for governing and organizing activities within the village. MOEFCC-GEF-UNDP India's #SECUREHimalaya initiative is working with the Lachen Dzumsa to establish sustainable mechanisms for biodiversity conservation and natural resource management.
