Low Floor Siemens S700 First Day Of Service On Sacramento Light Rail Gold Line September 1st, 2024

Sep 1, 2024 Sunday September 1st, 2024, Sacramento Regional Transit started running their new low floor Siemens S700 trains on the SACRT Gold Line. Due to some of the cars still being tested like the first one at the beginning car 416, the Gold Line will run a majority of its trains as the new low floor Siemens S700's while 2 trains will still be the old high floor cars (CAF S/200 & Siemens-Duewag U2a) as mixed fleet runs. Mixed fleet runs are planned to happen until mid to late September. On the 2nd day of running, I managed to see a 2 car Siemens S700 that Monday Labor Day. The stations are now equiped to announce that a low floor train is arriving. Also, trains at the switch to single track near Marketplace Ln has removed its mandatory stop but it seems as if other switches like the one Downtown at 7th & I/County Center Station still has too.
