English Roundhand

My brain is fried from the teaching of this complex script. English Roundhand (ERH) is wonderful but it requires an inordinate amount of control and a recall of so many variations. I LOVED teaching this and watching the students grapple with challenges to what they consider ‘the norm’ in nib direction and ductus. For me, it is about delicacy and smoothness of line but more than that, it needs to be Directly written with little or fiddling (going back and retouching) because this is not how the English Writing Masters would have approached it.
