Boys Ceremony 2026 Tharnpa
Tharnpa is a style of dancing that originated on stations to the west of Wadeye before the 1960s from Parlga, an East Kimberly dance style. It does not use a didgeridu but has a women's chorus. The songs are in the Murrinh Patha language which is the main language spoken at Wadeye today. Tharnpa are singing and dancing to support the boys undergoing initiation.
