From Jeff's Studio: Introduction to Lute
Director of Early Music Missouri Jeff Noonan was asked recently to make some short “show & tell” videos about the lute for a music appreciation class. Perhaps some of our fans will enjoy them. This is an informal overview of the history and characteristics of the Renaissance lute. The musical snippet is “Benedictus Duo” by Enríquez de Valderrábano (c.1500 – after 1557) from Silva de Sirenas (1547).
