Swinging the body too late (Swingintoshing)

Tom Macintosh rows with a ver late body swing. So late that there is almost no overlap of the body swing against the leg drive. This means that the ability to generate acceleration through the one force adding to the other is lost or at least reduced. In our Why Not To Row Like An Olympian series, we plan to look into the technique used by some of the top scullers in the world and explain why aspirant athletes should not see their success and believe they should copy all their traits. There are many top scullers that have unique and controversial form. We want to consider what may work and point out what we think will not. In this video we look at rowing with a late body swing. Together with this we will bring you content from all aspects of rowing, including, fitness and training, health and longevity, tips, trick and hacks.
