Kazakhstani driver's licenses can now be used in the United Arab Emirates. The Interior Ministries of the two countries signed a memorandum on mutual recognition and exchange of national driver's licenses. The document was signed during the official visit of the Kazakh Interior Minister to Abu Dhabi. The new agreement will significantly simplify administrative procedures for driver's license exchanges and eliminate unnecessary formalities for citizens. According to the Interior Ministry, approximately 400,000 Kazakhstanis visit the United Arab Emirates annually, and another 14,000 Kazakhstanis reside there permanently. Once the memorandum comes into force, Kazakhstanis and UAE citizens will be able to exchange their national driver's licenses under a simplified procedure in cases stipulated by the agreement.
