On this adventure, we set out to reach the historic church of Cerro Blanco, in the heart of the Atacama Desert. What seemed like a relatively simple route ended up becoming a much greater challenge than expected. We traveled through ravines, past old mining ruins, along bischofite paths, and through surprising areas teeming with vegetation in the middle of the desert. When we were just 5 kilometers from our destination, I had to make an important decision: to keep going or turn back. Although we didn't make it to Cerro Blanco, the adventure continued through the Totoral oasis and ended by the ocean, proving that sometimes the best trips are those that don't go exactly as planned.
