The Supreme Court now has the final decision on the appeal filed by Kirchner, who seeks to halt the foreclosure of her properties, arguing that the ruling is not yet final. However, according to judicial sources, "the Court of Cassation understands that these assets must already be seized," given that the sentence was confirmed last June. The forfeiture affects all nine defendants in the case, including the 20 properties belonging to the Kirchners and the 80 belonging to Lázaro Báez. The progress of the Notebooks case could add further penalties if another final conviction is handed down, although the legal process appears to be taking longer due to its slow pace and the vested interests involved. According to recent estimates, only 16% of the witness statements scheduled for May were taken.
