Machine Safety vs Process Safety SIL vs PLe
Fail safe, or fault tolerant? These are two concepts of machine and process safety systems. But machine safety is governed by two standards, ISO 13849-1 and IEC 62061, whereas process safety is governed by IEC 61511. In our May 2021 User Group seminar, we look at the differences between machine and process safety, and SIL and PLe.
