Lucchini CN-06 Prototype w/ BMW 3.0 Straight-6 Engine Singing on Hillclimb Roads!

This video is about a Lucchini CN-06 I used to see at various Italian hillclimb races from 2012 till last September, always driven by Renzo Meneghetti. Lucchini Engineering was an Italian sports car constructor and racing team born in 1980 and which ceased its activity in 2010. Their cars were mainly open-cockpit prototypes for use in hillclimbs (in particular sold to privateer teams) as well as Le Mans Prototypes for endurance racing. With their famous Lucchini SR2001 and 2002 they managed to win the constructor championship in the SR2 class of the FIA Sportscar championship in 2002 and 2003. The car shown in this video should be one of their very last creations for hillclimb use and it's powered by a BMW 3.0-liter N/A inline-6 engine. The hard part was to find exactly which one. With a bit of uncertainty, I feel like saying it should be a modified version of the S50B30 engine you can find on the Euro-Spec BMW M3 E36. Hillclimb prototypes powered by this engine are still largely used nowdays but it was mainly used, and probably introduced for the first time, on the Osella PA20/S, a car built in the '90s for the CN hillclimb group. Their S50B30s were tuned and improved by the Italian engine expert Renato Armaroli. These engines were able to reach a max output of 370-380hp and rev up to 10,000 rpm and linked to a 6-speed sequential gearbox.
