On this episode of extraordinary Life stories, I’m talking with ​⁠‪@JohnDCaudwell‬ John is an entrepreneur, business leader and philanthropist. He’s a Self-made billionaire, having founded and pioneered The Caudwell Group, a telecommunications company which included Phones 4U, which at the time was the UK’s largest independent mobile phone retailer. As a signatory to the Giving Pledge, John is committed to giving at least 70 percent of his wealth to charitable causes during, and after his lifetime. John is clear that he wants to be remembered for his charity work rather than his business success. How does John define success? Many people would have been happy with becoming a billionaire and never choosing/needing to work again, and sail off into the sunset somewhere warm. However with John his ‘purpose’ was only just getting started! His whole demeanour is supercharged with high energy, laser focus and #PURPOSE - and at the time of our conversation he’s about to turn 71 years old!
