Quand les villes se partagent leur agents de police

We are in Toufflers, a small town of 4,000 inhabitants in the Nord department. Contrary to appearances, there is no municipal police force here. The officers who respond are based in Hem, the neighboring town of 20,000 inhabitants. It's a shared police force. While the officers are under the jurisdiction of Hem, they can respond in the four neighboring towns. This requires the approval of the public prosecutor, the prefect, and an agreement signed by the mayors. The first advantage for the mayors of small towns is that the town hall pays for half a police officer per year, roughly €30,000. And the officers respond as needed, as often as necessary. This is also the second advantage, as is the case here in Loire-Atlantique. The system was implemented on January 1st of this year. The overall budget for the municipal police force is one million euros. Half is paid by Hem, the other half by the four neighboring towns. The goal in the coming years is to have a municipal police force operating 24/7. 🔴 LCI LIVE: https://www.tf1info.fr/direct/ TF1 and LCI news continuously with TF1 INFO: https://www.tf1info.fr/ ➡️ Download our free app to follow the news: https://tf1infos.page.link/app
