September 9, 1992 could be termed as the doomsday in the history of Chipursan Valley of Hunza, Gilgit Baltistan region, Northern Pakistan, as this day (twenty nine years ago), witnessed a disastrous snow Avalanche and killed 10 people on the Pomiri pastureland which included an old woman(Late Bibi Harrira) , while rest of others were the youth and middle age gentlemen of the same family. When there was a heavy snowfall on September 8, 1992 the strong men went up to the pastureland in order to bring them down to the village but unfortunately the next day at night the snow-avalanche killed all of them and only two young people (a boy and a girl), survived in the face of the natural disaster. All of them belonged to the family of Ustaad Asmatullah Mushfiq (including his two sons), a huge test and trial and responsibility thus came over his shoulders on such a disastrous day. Ustaad Asmatullah Mushfiq however proved himself marvelously with a great courage and encountered the situation with an iron hand. In the above video interview in wakhi language, I have tried to capture the scene and encompass the situation in multiple contexts. Hope you'd watch the video and understand the situation in order to prepare yourselves for such unpredictable disasters whenever, incase they come across us.
