The Autonews team and its permanent host, Danila Belokon, present the new Japanese electric car – the Nissan Micra EV! It's worth starting with a little history. The fact is, the fuel-powered Micra was discontinued two summers ago. But not for long: the samurai were clearly already planning a new, sixth-generation model. As a result, a year ago, it transformed from a hatchback into a crossover hatchback. The Micra EV isn't an independent Nissan development, but rather a rebadged version of the Renault 5 E-Tech hatchback. Both models are built on the AmpR Small platform and have identical dimensions: less than 4 meters long and less than 1.8 meters wide. However, the exterior of this little samurai is unique, created at Nissan Design Europe's London studio, which makes it easy to conclude that the Micra's main market is Europe. Inside, however, the new Japanese model's kinship with the Renault 5 E-Tech is obvious. So, those familiar with the French car are also familiar with the Japanese car. The crossover hatchback also features a similar suite of driving assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control, but in this case it's called Nissan ProPilot.
