In this video we take a ride on board LIRR Port Jefferson Branch train #7510 en route to Huntington from New York Penn Station. The Port Jefferson Branch is a commuter rail Branch operated by Long Island Railroad and runs between New York Penn Station (or Grand Central Madison on weekdays only) and Port Jefferson. The branch is electrified between NYC and Huntington. The branch east of Huntington to Port Jefferson is diesel territory. Direct trains between NYC and Port Jefferson run during peak hours only (inbound during the AM peak and outbound during the PM peak). During weekday off peak hours and weekends, passengers must transfer at Huntington to continue their journey. TRAIN CONSIST: Rolling stock: 8 Car Bombardier M7 EMU set Train Make-up: (7042-7041, 7336-7335, 7254-7253, 7498-7497) Seated in car 7042 (first car) EXTRA NOTES: • For those who pay very close attention to detail, the mileposts for this video and all future LIRR vids have now been updated for more accuracy.
