Weathering Uncertainty: Climate Change, Chronic Stress, and Mental Health

Drawing from the Call to Mind episodes "Weathering the Storm: Climate Change and Mental Health" and "The Strain of Stress," this timely conversation examines how climate disruption, economic uncertainty, job insecurity, and political division are contributing to rising levels of anxiety, grief, depression, burnout, and emotional overwhelm. As communities face wildfires, severe storms, displacement, environmental loss, and mounting stress, experts are calling attention to the psychological consequences of living in an increasingly uncertain world. At the same time, the discussion highlights practical strategies for supporting mental health, strengthening community connections, and building resilience. Through research, lived experience, and examples of communities caring for one another in times of crisis, viewers will gain insight into how individuals and communities can respond to uncertainty with greater awareness, compassion, and collective action. The webinar features Jessica Bari of Call to Mind, climate psychology experts Dr. Gale M. Sinatra and Dr. Thomas Doherty, and is moderated by Angela Davis of MPR News and Rob Waters, founder of MindSite News. Hosted by MindSite News, a national nonprofit newsroom focused on mental health.
