In the second episode of the "Follow the Money" investigation, Claudio Durigon, current Undersecretary of Economy in the Draghi government and Matteo Salvini's right-hand man, reveals the name of the Guardia di Finanza general appointed by his party and said to be in charge of overseeing the investigation into the League's €49 million. Durigon's name is Giuseppe Zafarana, the current commander of the Guardia di Finanza. The revelation comes during a dinner with a Neapolitan businessman whom the Undersecretary describes as having "very close ties to the secret services." Durigon says Zafarana wants to propose the candidacy of a politician under investigation for corruption in the League. This is the same businessman who, during the P4 trial, admitted to hosting a lunch with several top members of the Guardia di Finanza, including General Zafarana. Meanwhile, following the publication of the first episode, the Lega and UGL continued to deny the details surrounding the transfer of the union headquarters to the Northern League. However, these details were corroborated by new testimonies. Indeed, with the arrival of Salvini's "Beast" men, two new faces also arrived at the headquarters on Via delle Botteghe Oscure: right-wing extremists previously implicated in the Mokbel trial. It was precisely during this period that the union that launched Durigon onto the national political scene began a campaign of foreign travel that took him around the world. These trips differ only by a few days from those planned by Salvini's League, the most high-profile of which was to Moscow in 2018.
