Cwm Prysor Viaduct - 8.70mile Hike Wales
In today's video, we head to wales to walk along an abandoned viaduct, left for nature to take over. The viaduct was completed in 1882, and is a nine-arch, grade 2 listed victorian structure. The structure was originally timber before being upgraded and rebuilt in stone. The final train to cross the viaduct was in 1961, where shortly after the closure the tracks were lifted. Because the viaduct and route that the internet gives, isn't that long we decided to venture further along the path, where the trains would of followed the side of the mountains round. When this came to and end we went off over the hills, practically hiking pathless. It was very eventful as it ended up meaning, we had to jump streams, hop fences and walk through the most boggy, mossiest of grounds. Losing our feet and legs within the ground. Our hike seemed never-ending and then three quarters of the way through, where we was originally going through a woodlands, we couldn't get through as this was all fenced off well. This meant we followed the outside of it to get back on our main path of the railway, which turned the hike into an expedition. At one point we really did have to squeeze through the smallest of gaps in a fence to get on the right side of the hill, to make our way back. Watching this video as I was editing it, it was so funny and I know you will end up laughing to when you get over half way to where the entertainment happens. This was by far, the most beautiful hike I have done this year. We picked the best day for it, and had sun for the majority, with only little showers. The views were stunningly, breathtaking; where we had snowy mountains surrounding us. We were literally in the middle of nowhere. Please follow my Instagram Page: / hikingwithjayden
