The Horrors of the Deep Drove Me Insane | Dive or Die Review

Dive or Die is a Cthulhian horror, diving and base-management game where you explore the ocean for resources, recruit survivors and build a community beneath an increasingly hostile sky. The problem is that something ancient is watching. To keep the maddening rain from getting worse, you must appease a dark god through offerings and sacrifices. Meanwhile, every trip beneath the surface exposes your divers to stranger creatures, dangerous environments and horrors capable of destroying their sanity. During my playthrough, my own character finally broke after spending too long underwater and confronting what was waiting in the depths. In this long form review, I take a look at the diving, resource gathering, colony management, recruitment, sanity systems and the disturbing choices required to keep your community alive.
