Bacchus creates a fake portal device. Meanwhile, Kai is being maintained at the V Rangers HQ. Once the maintenance is complete, Kai hangs out with his friends in the lounge. Just then, they get an emergency call. Dr. Chico sets out with Volt, Kai, and Gina to check out the portal when traces of the energy fairy queen appear in the forest. However, this was a trap set by the Spark Gang. Volt and Gina fend off the solider bots, but Kai and Dr. Chico are at the portal which turns out to be a trap set by Bacchus. While Kai holds Bacchus off, Dr. Chico runs away. Bacchus chases down Dr. Chico and tries to destroy him, but is stopped by Kai, who is soon joined by Volt and Gina.
