The Phase I section of the Transnordestina railway, linking Paes Landim (PI) to the Port of Pecém (CE), has reached 82% physical completion. The project is expected to be finished by the end of 2027. While the infrastructure progresses, the railway is already operating in a testing phase. Since December 2025, trains have been circulating, transporting corn and sorghum, anticipating the use of the logistics corridor which should reduce transportation costs and increase the competitiveness of exports from the region.
