Malibu Steering Angle Sensor / Torque sensor
I purchased a new genuine GM sensor from the dealer. I centered the wheel before disconnecting the battery. After removing the 2 main steering column bolts, I pulled only the upper half the steering column out from the steering column slip joint. Make sure the wheel does not make turns when you move it, or else you will be off center on reinstall. The lower steering shaft should not turn because it is still connected to the wheels. The arrow on the sensor should be clocked in place for the new sensor. Pull the old out and slide in the new. I did not have to relearn the computer to the new sensor everything worked and my steering is fixed. This video/comment section is only for entertainment purposes.
