Congressman Gustavo Salle, leader of the Sovereign Identity party, introduced a bill to cut the salaries of legislators, political appointees, and the President of the Republic. Salle launched his proposal in response to criticism leveled in recent weeks against the project presented by Vice President Carolina Cosse to carry out construction work near the Legislative Palace. When asked about the proposed changes, he clarified: “Orsi’s maximum salary would be six times the national minimum wage. Gustavo Salle’s maximum salary, and that of all other congressmen, would be four times the national minimum wage.
