辞职啦！来西双版纳以工换宿Vlog1｜Quit My Job and Starting Work-Exchange in Xishuangbanna

两个月以前，我辞职了。过去很长一段时间，我在伦敦一家专注气候变化和可持续发展的头部咨询公司工作 我的收入不错，晋升速度不错，项目也不错。还有很重要的是，我有一群志同道合、可以并肩同行的工作伙伴。再后来，我又拿到了内调新加坡，参与新办公室设立的机会。 我一路主动争取着所有的机会，却发现自己其实很早就被框在了一个固定的价值体系里。我不知道职场上那些让我有安全感和成就感的事情究竟是自我实现还是随波逐流。 所以我想停下来。脱离过去三十年我身上被一个一个贴上的标签，去做一些没有做过的事，去接受不一样的挑战。 去找到让我觉得开心和有意义的事情。 我选择的第一件事，是到西双版纳以工换宿。目的地是位于勐海县勐遮镇勐邦水库边的归夏咖啡厅。从版纳高铁站出发，没有公共交通直达，只能打车或自驾。车程一个半小时。 我即将在这里开启我为期一周的以工换宿生活。 Two months ago, I handed in my resignation. For a long stretch of time, I worked at a leading consultancy firm in London specialising in climate change and sustainable development. I enjoyed a solid income, steady promotions and high-quality projects.More importantly, I worked alongside a group of like-minded peers who walked this path with me. Later on, I secured an internal transfer to Singapore to help set up the firm’s new office. I kept chasing every opportunity proactively, only to realise I had long been trapped within a rigid set of values. I began to question whether the security and sense of achievement I got from my career stemmed from genuine self-actualisation, or simply following the crowd. That’s why I decided to pause. I wanted to strip away all the labels attached to me over the past thirty years, try new things, and embrace unfamiliar challenges. I set out to find what truly brings me joy and purpose. My first choice was to take a work-exchange stay in Xishuangbanna. My destination is Guixia Café, sitting beside Mengbang Reservoir in Mengzhe Town, Menghai County. There is no direct public transport from the Xishuangbanna High-Speed Railway Station. The only options are taxi or self-drive, with a one-and-a-half-hour journey. I am about to start my one-week work-exchange adventure here.
