These are unique due to the fact that the inside of the rods have a plastic insert of sorts that decreases the inside diameter and absorbs some of the sound. I tested this using a simple dB app on my phone. The Graph truly tells the tale here! Its a softer sound & alot easier to communicate with the helpers. Anytime you run heavy equipment, communication is important for everyone and adds a safety factor!
