Elevator Shoes | Rockschool Original ‘Elevator Shoes’ takes inspiration from the blues-rock/soul style, made popular by the likes of Eric Clapton, Peter Frampton and Steely Dan, to name a few. This music is centred around the lead guitar and many of the most iconic guitar solos come from this genre. It utilises more complex harmonies than traditional blues, borrowing extended chord voicings more commonly found in soul and jazz. Recommended Listening - B.B. King Completely Well (1969) The soul blues sounds of B.B. King in the ‘60s and ‘70s were highly regarded and part of what made him so influential, with his emotive singing and expressive guitar phrasing. Completely Well includes ‘The Thrill Is Gone’, a blues standard that was made a hit thanks to B.B.
